Fabolous
Written by Cyrus Langhorne
Fabolous recently spoke on his admiration for G-Unit’s Lloyd Banks and discussed their “unreleased” collaboration track which may have slipped under the radar.
“I wanna do something with Banks,” Fab revealed in an interview. “I respect Banks’ pen game. We actually, I don’t know, he got a song on the cut with me and him that we did for one of his albums back in the days so I don’t know what he did with it. I don’t know if I got at him too good on it and he ain’t wanna put it out, you know what I mean. [laughs] That was a little jab so we can get him to get in and get a new joint out. But I f*ck with Banks and so whenever he’s ready we can get it.” (This Is 50) (more…)

We’ve learned Gary Coleman’s wife was arrested last night for domestic violence and disorderly conduct in Santaquin, Utah — where the couple has a home.
According to the sheriff’s website, Shannon Price was booked for the two misdemeanors at 8:32 PM and then released on $1,205 bond.
Cops tell us Shannon allegedly broke household items belonging to Gary and that he was not physically harmed. (TMZ)

Jay-Z
Written by Cyrus Langhorne
Jay-Z recently performed a freestyle in Las Vegas which has reportedly struck a cord with The Game who, in return, has responded to allegations of it being a subliminal diss.
“For what people be talking about all the time,” Jay raps on-stage. “Are we talking about fiction or are we talking about fact/You talking about fiction, hold up, pardon my back/I’m talking about life and all I hear is/Oh yeah he’s talking about cripe/I ain’t talking about profit, I’m talking about pain/Talking about the city, talking about shame/I ain’t talkin’ about gossip, I ain’t talkin’ ’bout Game/I ain’t talkin’ about Jimmy, I ain’t talkin’ about Dame/I’m talkin’ about real sh*t, this here is pain/Whatcha talkin’ about, I don’t know what y’all saying/Dudes keep talkin’ about/’Hov take it back’/I’m doing better than before, why would I do that…People trying to re-write history let’s talk about that/Dame made millions, even Jaz made some scraps/He could have made more but he ain’t sign his contract.” (YouTube) (more…)

Mase
Written by Cyrus Langhorne
Bad Boy protege Mase has shown further signs of his return to the rap game by tagging alongside Trey Songz‘ “I Need A Girlfriend” remix.
Referencing Diddy’s memorable “Bad Boy” slogan, Mase’s latest record shows the emcee professing his feelings towards a love interest and confirming his rap return.
“I guess the prophecy was true,” he says in the song’s intro. “‘Cause Diddy told us ten years from now we’d still be on top. I thought I told you that we won’t stop. Now Mase wanna take you where it’s sunny and enjoy you like my money/Have you out the ‘hood, so your crew think you acting funny/And one night can be a long week on a Rome beach/50 carat in each charm and that’s a charm a piece/Hopping out of planes, shopping out of Spain…You can take my fame, take my chain, take the name, take the glam/It don’t mean a thing, just as long as you and me remain/You with me, I’m with you/So I know what we can do/Take a trip out to Peru but not speaking on what we do…Tell everybody that the boy back in the building/Tell Suge to bring the duffle, I’m about to make a killing.” (“I Need A Girlfriend” remix) (more…)

G-Unit
Written by Cyrus Langhorne
G-Unit’s Tony Yayo has addressed The Game’s recent apology to 50 Cent and crew over his past actions against the Unit and agreed the entire clan could have been more successful if they stayed together.
In addition to agreeing with Game, the “Talk of New York” said too much time has passed to reflect on what “could” have happened with the G-Unit brand.
“Honestly, it was bugged out to me when n*gga said Yayo, [Lloyd] Banks,” Yayo told DJ Whoo Kid in an interview. “What he said was real. N*ggas was The Beatles. That’s the realest thing he said, like, if me, Fif, Banks, [Young] Buck, Game, if we was on our A-game together then we would have still been making money. We making money now but what I’m saying is we wouldn’t have allowed nobody to take that number one spot. But it’s too late to figure that sh*t out now. What’s done is done. N*ggas to me is marked to death. I don’t give a f*ck about these n*ggas. At the end of the day, if n*ggas would have just sat there and listened to what 50 said and didn’t feel no way, ’cause it’s not like 50 was Suge Knight‘ing n*ggas over there, it wasn’t even like that…If you read the 48 Laws of Power, one of the laws is break away from the group because you get more attention…They actually wanted to be on the same level as 50 and it’s hard to get to that level.” (This Is 50) (more…)

50 Cent
Written by Cyrus Langhorne
G-Unit leader 50 Cent recently spoke on his admiration for Method Man and why the Staten Island emcee, in his opinion, out-shined the entire Wu-Tang Clan.
In addition to Mef, the rapper also spoke on GZA’s rhyming skills and overall content.
“I always thought he was better than the rest of ‘em,” Fif said in an interview. “Maybe that’s why he had to come out first. I listen to his music still…Sh*t, he had one of those moments where whatever he said was golden. He was just in that zone. F*ck that, that sh*t is still hot. What the music said to me and the impression it had on me in that time frame is still there. I had one of them say something about me, one of the Wu-Tang…The Genius I think, but I never really liked his music. His was always so smart that it was stupid, I didn’t really like his sh*t. It was good but it wasn’t, Mef was better than him to me…Mef was the one, that’s why it went first and I’m sure they know that…He had what was necessary for that sh*t to go off.” (XXLMag) (more…)
Joe Budden
Written by Cyrus Langhorne
Joe Budden recently spoke on G-Unit’s Lloyd Banks and how he would want the opportunity to record with the rapper and go bar-for-bar with “The Punchline King.”
Despite having a rap beef with the Unit in recent years, Budden said he was open to a collaboration with the emcee.
“I wanna do a song with Lloyd Banks,” Budden revealed in a live blog chat on Friday (July 3) afternoon alongside his friend/producer Dough Boy. “I gotta get him, pause. Yeah, that’s what I want. I think he’s ducking me. I think Banks was dope and then he fell the f*ck off and then he got right back up. So personally, for me, I would want to do a song with him. Nah, he don’t got no personality. I’d have to see if I could tear him up [on a record].” (Blog TV) (more…)

Ja Rule
Written by Cyrus Langhorne
Former Murder Inc. frontman Ja Rule has issued a warning to rappers in light of his upcoming rap return and promised he would come back with new material.
In addition to speaking on his return, Rule also announced the launch of his own website.
“Word to God, Rule York in the building,” he said in a video. “That’s the motherf*cking first blog on Rule York TV on the iPhizzle cam n*gga. I’m getting a lot of hardcore footage. All you b*tch a** n*ggas out there, I’m letting y’all know I’m coming and I’m f*cking, oh, I got a chip on my shoulders this year b*tch. I’ma let you know something for real for real, brand new n*gga. Nothing f*cking stale, faded, brand new n*gga. Get ready. I’m lettin’ y’all n*ggas know man, you got about 60 to 90 days then I’ma put my d*ck in your mouth man. Watch yourselves homies, telling you.” (Forbez DVD) (more…)

Slaughterhouse
Written by Cyrus Langhorne
Slaughterhouse’s Royce Da 5′9 recently spoke on his rap group’s upcoming self-titled album debut and promised hip-hop fans a return to lyricism.
“Slaughterhouse is classic,” Royce said in an interview. “It’s what you expect from Slaughterhouse and then some. We actually making records. I don’t think a lot of people can say that. They’re expecting lyrics from the jump. First thing they’re gonna want to hear is lyrics. You’re going get that front to back. But you’re also going to get great songwriting, great song structures, great feel, all the group members show versatility with this album. Everyone just stepped up. I’m really proud of everybody…My dream album is an album that you can combine hip-hop with the streets. It’s not too hip-hop. It’s not earthy and happy. Then it’s street but it’s not so, ‘Oh my God. I’m gonna kill, kill, kill.’ There’s still a hip-hop element there.” (The Boom Box) (more…)
