Gallic Wars: For those who don’t know who you are, Why don’t you tell a little bit about yourself. We’ll start off easy. Name? What do you do? And where have some people might have seen you?
Tracy Obonna: Hello, my name is Tracy Obonna aka Nigerian Bombshell. I’m a model/actress/writer, you might have seen me in the All Access Sugababz Dvd or in the Max B and Frenchiee video/dvd Get your money right.
Gallic Wars: What kind of beginnings do you stem from? Tell us about your past and growing up.
Tracy Obonna: Well to start of my father and mother are both Nigerian. I was born in Washington D.C where they met. But due to my father’s business ventures we lived in London England, and Nigeria for a short portion of my life. When I was six years old we moved to Toronto, Canada and that’s where I grew up and went to Elementary school and high school. Growing up I have always been into the arts. I took part in school plays and dance recitals. I also had a love for the sports. I was and still am a major athlete. When I was in the sixth grade I started playing volleyball very seriously and with hard work and dedication I was able to receive a volleyball scholarship to play D1 volleyball for Youngstown State University in Ohio. So it was volleyball that brought me back to America. After a few years playing in Ohio, I transferred to New York and now I’m bringing the same determination and competitiveness from my volleyball to my modeling and acting career.
Gallic Wars: Why the name Nigerian bombshell? Besides the obvious. One would assume you’re beautiful and your ancestry is Nigerian. Is there another reason how or why the name came about?
Tracy Obonna: The name Nigerian Bombshell can mean the obvious “Oh she’s a pretty Nigerian girl”. But to me, the name means a lot more. I ‘m very proud of my ancestry so I want the world to know it. Also the bombshell part is basically giving everybody a chance to embrace themselves for what is about to happen. I’m the future of the game.
Gallic Wars: So the warmup is done. *Cracks knuckles* Are you ready for REAL questions? One thing about Gallic, is that we breed authenticity and we give the people what they want. Up for the challenge?
Tracy Obonna: Yes I love challenges.
Gallic Wars: You say on your Myspace profile, that you “love
expressing yourself through modeling, acting, and dressing.” How is that so? I can understand the dressing part; how acting and modeling?
Tracy Obonna: When I’m acting or modeling, the scene that I’m working on is usually a situation I have endured or experienced in my life, but for some reason, maybe out of shame disgrace or pride I was not able to let my true feelings out. So when I get the chance to portray my emotions, fears, and vulnerability it’s not only therapeutic for me, it is my passion.
Gallic Wars: What regrets in life do you have?
Tracy Obonna: None. I do not have any regrets in life. My past and what I have been through, morphed me into the woman I am today.
Gallic Wars: What separates you from the average model. What do you
bring to the table? Why should people even pay attention to Nigerian
Bombshell. Are you just another pretty face?
Tracy Obonna: There is a separation between me and other models. I’m more than just a model. I’m an educated women graduating this May with a degree in Business and Theater. So not only am I studying my craft, I’m living it and perfecting it. I’m also a writer. I write plays, short films and rhymes. I also work behind the scenes. I have worked as a stage manager and have help design, build and set up props. People should pay attention to me because I have a lot of qualities many models out there don’t have and that will in turn change the flow and the way of the game.
Gallic Wars: What do you bring to the industry?
Tracy Obonna: I’m bringing my knowledge, my creativity and my substance to this industry. If people don’t want to put me in movies well I’ll just put myself in my own. I have mind blowing ideas and concepts and I’m waiting for a chance to exhibit them. The question is: Is this Industry ready for me? (giggles)
Gallic Wars: What are your pet peeves and biggest turn ons?
Tracy Obonna: My biggest pet peeves, is when a man get another man to holla at me for him. That’s so wrong. My biggest turn on is a confident man, that’s real street but is a real gentleman at the same time.
Gallic Wars: If you were attracted to a guy in public, would you ever initiate a conversation or approach them? How do you make yourself noticed?
Tracy Obonna: I would never approach a man. If he really wanted me he would approach me. I don’t really do anything to get noticed, I’m just myself.
Gallic Wars: Are you currently single?
Tracy Obonna: Yes. I’m single.
Gallic Wars: What celebrities would you like to work with?
I would love to work with Tyler Perry, Martin Scorsese, Beyonce, Merly Streep, Angel loa Luv, Rick Ross, G-Unit, Megan Good.
Gallic Wars: What are you currently working on? Do you have anything in the future the public should look out for?
Tracy Obonna: Right now I’m working on a feature film called Checkmate by Randy Holcomb. I’m also working on some short films I want to get on film soon. Look out for me in the latest All Access Sugababz DVD April 2009.
